You Want to help! But what helps most?

You want to help animals and you recognize the importance of carefully considering where to invest your limited time and resources.

You know that dealing honestly with the facts of how the world is – rather than cherry picking claims that feel good – is the only way to have a real impact.

The facts are stark. Despite all the pro-veg efforts and despite the decline in red meat consumption, the average American is eating more birds than ever before and thus causing more suffering than ever before.

And this graph shows it is only going to get worse.

You want to help.

We want to help.

Like you, One Step’s founders realized that being honest about how the world is – rather than what our Facebook feed implies – is the only way to really help.

You can continue to promote our achievable and sustainable harm-reduction message by joining your fellow members and making a fully tax-deductible donation today – one that will be doubled, dollar for dollar, allowing you to help twice as much.

You can trust that your One Step Team will do our best, every day, to make sure your support reduces as much suffering as possible.

Thank You So Much!

I try to buy free range, organic and grass fed meats. Does that help?

Thanks for your comment Giovanna! It is great you are trying to make a difference. Unfortunately, we can't know exactly how animals are treated unless we're allowed to visit the farms unannounced.
The single best thing you can do is to not eat birds. That would spare 24 of the 25 land animals the average American eats every year. One easy step makes a huge difference!!

I think it is important to tailor our message to the audience. http://bit.ly/2nzohOo

I understand that by not eating poultry less animals will be slaughtered, but people will most likely just increase their consumption of red meat, which is vastly more resource intensive and environmentally damaging than poultry. What about the environmental consequences of eating less poultry?

It is easy to help animals! Really! By simply not eating chickens, you remove the vast majority of your support for factory farms. Thanks!
