While either attacking each other or patting ourselves on the back on Facebook, this is the real world: “Retail demand for chicken is off the charts,” Wall Street analyst Jeremy Scott told Investor’s Business Daily today. As a result, the stocks of companies converting chickens into food are soaring — seeing increases exceeding 50% in 2017. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), American per capita consumption of chicken is at an all-time high. As a result, animal agriculture companies like Tyson and Sanderson are planning on opening new processing plants with the ability to kill more than 1.25 million birds per week. These statistics are a sobering reminder that the world is not going vegan. Most people’s desire to eat animals continues to outweigh their concerns about animal agriculture’s environmental impact and sustainability, cruelty to animals, and health risks. Animal products remain ubiquitous. This is why One Step refuses to promote fantasies. This is why we are dedicated to fact-based advocacy. Please click and be a part of it. Thanks.

I can't believe how close minded people are even with the fact of the meat impurities and how unnatural it is for humans. I believe humans will destroy their selves with this obsession of eating meat. Sickness will take over.

There is so much more to eat and be healthy now so much that there is no need to eat the flesh of animals. Vast amounts of animals are eaten hence vast amount of suffering. Even if the whole nation didn't eat meat or dairy products for four days a week that would help but no meat means NO suffering. This is my thoughts.

Many people avoid gaining knowledge or viewing info around animal abuse because they feel that changing their meat eating habits are going to have too much of a negative impact on their lives, however if information around how all food was produced was learnt at school i'm sure many children would choose to be vegetarian if not Vegan. Informed choice, is the answer, the truth around factory farming has to be communicated, at the moment its like a dirty little secret...... people deserve to know how their food is produced and how their brains are manipulated into believing this is the norm and its ok!!! Spread the word.....

You are so right Diane! Things will change with the young ones, hope for the future! I changed at 50, feel guilty for all the years before, but at least I changed and hopefully the trend will keep going
