What would it look like if all that mattered was reducing suffering?
That is the entirety of our motivation at One Step. We looked for where there was the most suffering. Then we honestly analyzed the results of decades of advocacy. We found these five harsh but undeniable facts, which drove our two guiding principles:
You are sure to receive many requests for support over the next days and weeks. There are many incredible groups doing amazing work out there. Please consider supporting One Step’s work today. Your donation – which will be truly doubled and accomplish twice as much – will go to efforts continually tested and optimized to reduce suffering as much as possible.

I'm not against hunting and I'm not against eating meat I have against torturing animals for years I was against China and Southern Korea and South Korea for torturing dogs and eat them then I find out here in America we torture cows chickens cats dogs you know what it makes me sick to my stomach and someday the good Lord is going to look down on them and they will pay and in our children's Children's life if we keep this up all those animals will be extinct right

I suggest you begin posting the sounds of distress and anguish. The sounds of animals moaning crying screeching screaming..thiscwill get under peoples skin.

Thanks for your comment, Debra. It is a trade-off between what turns people away before they get the message, and what is the most powerful message. E.g., if we were doing "pay-per-view," where we were paying people to watch something, and they had to watch the whole thing, we would definitely use different footage. But from our testing, this is the best for our landing page in our circumstance: http://www.onestepmatters.com

I think it would be powerful to lobby for governments to make it mandatory for organisations to be transparent about the 'product' the end user is getting from the time the animal is born through its sad life and then finally it's horrific death. This process should be recorded to ensure some maintenence of ethics (?). I'm now transitioning to veganism as it's horrifying to comprehend the aweful life these sentient beings have to then be slaughtered for food. I don't resent people for eating meat but I resent thefact that so many people want to or are forced to remain ignorant about what really happens in the so called 'farms' and abbatoirs because our governments protect the meat and farming industries irrespective of their poor standards. I think if more people had to see what farming animals and then slaughtering them really looks like they would rethink their consumption of it.

I Thought what that one person just wrote made. a really good point! If only people could just hear these Animals, the SCREEMS, the crying, as to what this poor Animail go though when they know they are going to be murdered! It might change people's minds on takeing their life's? Or due you think that would scare people away form learning ? NEAVER mind, it probably would scare them, and that might turn them off from wanting to learn.your way is of teaching is much better. Sincerely CBWORLEY

I do understand the dilemma between showing footage of the horrors of animal suffering and of potentially turning people away. It's a difficult line but keep going, it is so necessary.

That's great, Kay! By being a part of One Step, you can help expand our work to help end this cruelty, accomplishing even more than you do with your compassionate personal food choices.
